The auction of Wristwatches and Pocket Watches, held last November 17 in Milan at Palazzo Serbelloni with little less than 200 lots, has stood out since the exhibition days for an extraordinary success.
This sales session has in fact offered in the catalogue a collection of “vintage” and “modern” watches, including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Omega, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin and pocket timepieces with complications, very appreciated by the collectors’ market in Germany.
Among the top lots it is worth mentioning: the pocket Audemars Piguet in rose gold of 1892 (lot 170), with minutes repeater, sold for 106,000 euros; the Rolex Daytona “Big Red” (lot 169), reference 6263, which caught the attention of many collectors present not only in the room, but also on the phone, with participation from different parts of the world, which totalled 41,000 euros . Excellent results were also achieved for women’s watches, among them: the Cartier Art Deco (lot 104) sold for 6,200 euros, tripling its minimum estimate; the Bulgari “Tubogas” (lot 115), of the seventies, sold for 8,500 euros, doubling the minimum estimate.
The auction house Cambi is pleased to announce the upcoming auction of Wristwatches and Pocket Watches on May 25, 2016, again in the prestigious setting of Palazzo Serbelloni.
The Milan sale in May promises to be interesting for collectors and for all professionals in the sector; a growing market that of high-end watches, we just have to wait to see which results will reserve us the spring suction.
