The year 2015 ends with a positive note for our auction house and confirms Cambi’s leadership on the national panorama for the auction sales, this time for design artworks. One of Cambi’s lasts sales of 2015 has given us big satisfactions: Fine Design auction on the 18th of December introduced a rich selection of artworks coming from private collections.
Amongst the most important results of Fine Design Auction are the wonderful Distex Armchair and ottoman in walnut with fabric upholstery and brass details, bith signed Gio Ponti, artwork sold for € 32,500.

Another design object that reached an excellent auction result is the 1957 suspension lamp in varnished alluminium, perspex, brass and nylon, signed Ettore Sottas, sold for 56,000.

The 1930 couple of benches in walnut with brass details signed Gio Ponti, initially presented ad two separate lots were sold together for € 81.000.

Another lot that has reached an outstanding result is without a doubt the couple of desk lamps signed Max Ingrand, a Fontana Arte 1965 manufacture. The lamps have turnable shades in nickel plated metal and glazed crystal, with a base in multifaceted crystal and have been sold for € 94.000, with bidding starting from € 8.000 – €10.000.

Also by Max Ingrand, Fontana Arte 1965 manufacture, the chandelier with glazed crystal bowl amplifier, transparent crystal elements with a polished brass frame, sold for € 106.000.

A very important lot is Fine Design Auction was the rare and important low walnut table and hand-painted glass top signed by Lucio Fontana and Osvaldo Borsani in1952, sold for € 119.000.

Lastly, Cambi’s Fine Design auction has registered a new absolute record for a Gio Ponti artwork, with the sale of the low wooden structure table with marble top, manufactured in 1930 for Antica Quadreria Palazzo Contini Bonacossi in Florence, sold for € 385.000.
