On the occasion of Design Week 2024, Cambi Casa d’Aste is hosting in the spaces of Via San Marco 22, the Milan headquarters of the Maison, the event and installation of Chiquita and its global campaign “Pop by Nature” signed by Brazilian and international artist Romero Britto (Recife, Oct. 6, 1963), exponent of NeoPop and founder of the Happy Art Movement.

His art takes center stage at Chiquita House, the “house of Chiquita,” an immersive, interactive and colorful space that enhances the pop nature of the world’s most famous banana.

The idea behind the work of Romero Britto-a painter, sculptor and silkscreen artist-exhibited at Cambi draws inspiration “from nature, people, the tropics, and fashion.” In fact, many of his works are exhibited in Miami, Florida, the city to which he moved in the 1980s, when his career began. The Brazilian artist works for numerous commercial brands, and his style is hybridized with marketing, a hallmark of Pop Art, characterized by bright colors and a riot of joy and energy.

In his works Romero Britto fuses the rhythm of his South American origin culture with the abstraction and decomposition of forms of masters such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. His open and pop art has been featured in collaborations with major brands such as Apple, Disney, Coca-Cola, and Dolce&Gabbana.
