Following the outstanding results of the Design auction in May, Cambi\u2019s Fine Design<\/strong> auction heldon June 21st did even better, bearing testament to the current excellent trend of this market sector. The auction was met by a large foreign participation, with bidders from 12 countries and 4 continents. Several significant results were registered, such as the \u201cZ\u201d writing desk that was <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Piermaria Scagliola, head of the Design department, states regarding the most recent event he has curated: \u201cWe are very pleased with the results of this auction, that validate the international audiences\u2019 consideration of Cambi\u2019s events. These trends show that collectors have a strong interest in pieces that have a definite history, past or origin, pieces in which the designer\u2019s hand is <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Among the top lots, Albini\u2019s aforementioned oval table has doubled its initial estimate of 40,000-60,000 euros, reaching 90,000 euros.<\/strong> Two gorgeous wooden sideboards by Gio Ponti, sold respectively for 56,250 and 55,000 euros, are also worth noting. The initial estimates of several Albini lots were pulverized, including two blue Cassina production armchairs, estimated at 8,000- <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\nknocked down at 55,000 euros, an Italian record for a Gabriella Crespi piece<\/strong>, and the oval table with a slate base, an absolute record for an Albini table and second best worldwide result for the\u00a0<\/strong>artist.<\/strong><\/p>\n![\"Fine](\"https:\/\/blog.cambiaste.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Senza-nome-1-750x1024.jpg\")
\nclearly visible. The audience responded positively to our selection: a substantial offer, including a number of significant collections and pieces shown for the first time, such as the large Franco

\n12,000 euros and sold for 52,5000 euros, and a brown sofa and a pair of armchairs, originally designed for Casa C. Milano, that had a starting estimate of 4,000-6,000 euros and 6,000-8,000
\neuros and were knocked down at 42,5000 and 50,000 euros. A low brass table from Gabriella Crespi\u2019s Plurimi series was also much appreciated, starting with an estimate of 18,000-24,000
